At VXT, we understand the unique challenges faced by tourism and hospitality businesses of all sizes in Tasmania, and we’re here to support them along the way. That includes ways to prepare, upskill and empower people to overcome the workforce challenges that we know many are concerned about.

VXT works closely and collaboratively with Tasmanian organisations that are involved in hospitality and tourism industries to ensure the vitality of the industry with pathways, services and career development opportunities for new entrants into the industry along with existing and long-term employees.

Industry Organisations

VXT collaborates with 8 prominent industry organisations, including the Tasmanian Hospitality Association, Tourism Industry Council Tasmania, Regional Development Australia Tasmania, Study Tasmania, THA Clubs Tasmania, and THA Workforce Development. These collaborations aim to provide robust support to the industry and to ensure that VXT’s training programs remain pertinent, up-to-date, and tailored to the specific needs of the industry.

Community Organisations

Collaborating with over 30 Community Organisations allows VXT not only to deliver training in regional and rurals areas but also to engage with entities that offer services, networks, and affiliations for individuals seeking training opportunities and those requiring assistance to take part in that training. Organisations such as Area Connect extend a complimentary transport service to and from training venues, catering to individuals hindered by limited transportation choices.

Employment Service Providers

This group of service providers is the largest contingent with 52 organisations with whom VXT partners to aid job seekers to equip them with the necessary job-readiness skills. Our affiliation with employment service providers serves to ease the progression from job seeker to prepared employee through industry-tailored training. VXT oversees introductory and advancement programs tailored to cater to the needs of these participants.

Regional Organisations

VXT works with 39 regional organisations such as East Coast Tasmania Tourism, Trade Training Centres, Break O’Day Employment Connect, Flinders Island Business Inc to bring training to the local regions at locations suitable to region times, workforce teams and organisations.
