VXT Hotel School - Expression of Interest

Are you ready to kick-start your career in the hotel sector?

Do you have a passion and a genuine interest in working in the Tasmanian hospitality industry? 

VXT is launching an intensive 6 week hotel school which will provide participants with a real understanding of what it takes to work in one of Tasmania’s exceptional hotels. At the end of our 6 week hotel school, participants will be offered an interview with one of Hobart’s best hotels and the chance to begin your hotel industry career.

VXT HOTEL SCHOOL PRE-REQUISITES: 

  • demonstrated passion and genuine interest in working in the hospitality industry;
  • completion and submission of a VXT Hotel School Expression of Interest (EOI) form (as per below);
  • completion or the ability to complete prior to the commencement of the course a Responsible Service of Alcohol Certification; 
  • ability to provide a copy of your resume and proof of relevant completed education and training;
  • commitment to the time required to complete the program successfully over the 6 weeks, including the ability to work early mornings and late nights, reflective of the type of work that is available in the hospitality industry;
  • be over the age of 16 years;
  • have access to reliable transport &;
  • be available for an EOI interview to determine eligibility with the VXT team prior to a course offering being made.

Participants will be provided with intensive training (in a hotel environment as well as offsite) to develop a range of skills and knowledge including;

  • Food and beverage service
  • Barista and bar training
  • Accommodation services
  • Housekeeping operations
  • Understanding of the Tasmanian guest experience
  • Industry and destination knowledge

COURSE DETAILS:

Where: The Tasman, a Luxury Collection Hotel, Hobart – Marriott

When: Over 6 weeks (16 September 2024 – 23 October 2024)

EOI closing date: EOI’s will be accepted until CoB Friday 6 September 2024. Once you have submitted your EoI you should expect to be contacted by a member of the VXT team after Monday 9 September 2024.

EXPRESSION OF INTEREST FORM

An interview will be conducted to determine eligibility for a space in this program. Please note spaces are limited to 12 participants. Applicants must be able to meet the time commitments of the program over the full 6 weeks, with the ability to work early mornings and late nights, reflective of the type of work that is available in the hospitality industry. Access to reliable transport is a must.
