GENERAL
What courses do you offer?
VXT offers a variety of hospitality and tourism courses varying from Introductory through to Leadership and Management. To see a full list of the available courses, please visit the full Upcoming Courses page here.
What is the minimum and maximum age for course participants?
VXT courses do not have a minimum or a maximum age requirement for eligibility, meaning that anyone can undertake a course with us as long as they are able to understand and follow the instructions and guidelines set by our VXT Trainers.
Do you run tailored courses or courses for businesses to upskill their in-house workforce?
In conjunction with industry, VXT can design and deliver training programs across a number of different areas including entry level skills through to leadership and management. If you require specific training or a tailored course for your business or operation, please contact our General Manager – Strategic & Industry Partnerships, Varun, who will be able to discuss your specific requirements on a case-by-case basis at varun@vxt.org.au or 0482 093 925.
PAYMENT & ACCOUNTS
How much are the courses?
Our courses are heavily subsidised to keep industry training accessible to everyone. Details as to the cost of the course are listed on the course page on the website.
Tailored training programs for hospitality and tourism businesses will be on a case-by-case basis, depending on course requirements. What payment methods are available?
Our courses are heavily subsidised to keep industry training accessible to everyone.
We offer payment for all VXT courses through online enrolment on the VXT website via credit card or you can call our team to make payment over the phone. Alternatively, during the enrolment process, you can opt to receive an invoice and pay via direct deposit – please contact the team on 6387 7244 if you wish to use this payment method.
Can I purchase courses for multiple people?
Yes, this can be done by purchasing courses individually via our website or alternatively you can send our team a request for a group booking via email at info@vxt.org.au.
How can I contact VXT if I have further questions?

Can I request a tax invoice for my employer?
Yes, during the enrolment process, you can opt to receive an invoice and pay via direct deposit. Alternatively, please get in touch with our team who will be able to provide you with a tax invoice via email on info@vxt.org.au or telephone 03 6387 7244.
ENROLMENT
How and where do I enrol in a course?
To enrol in a VXT course simply head to the VXT website, click on upcoming courses by region and select region your wish to undertake the training and then the course you are interested in enrolling in.
From there, click on Enrol at the bottom of the page and follow the prompts through the enrolment process.
If you have difficulties throughout the process, don’t hesitate to get in touch with our team on 03 6387 7244, and they will guide you through the process or alternatively enrol you directly over the phone.
How long does the course take?
Introductory courses are generally 1-2 days in duration.
Leadership and management courses are generally 2 to 4 face-to-face workshops plus an online study component.
For individual courses, please refer to the specific training program for course duration and date details.

When will I receive my certificate of completion?
Certificates for all VXT courses are issued after the completion of the course and are emailed to you. Certificates are also available for download via our Learning Portal – details for which are provided to you during your enrolment.
We encourage all participants to update their contact details through the Learning Portal to ensure your certificate is accurate and is sent to the correct address. For more information on the Learner Portal, please refer to your enrolment details or contact our team on info@vxt.org.au.
Where are your courses run?
VXT is a regional training provider and as such our courses are run statewide. From Smithton to Port Arthur and Queenstown to St Helens, our participants have the opportunity to receive industry specific training across Tasmania, not just the major centres.

What time does your courses start and finish?
The confirmed start and finish times will be included in your initial email from our team upon enrolling.
Is there a waitlist for a course if I cannot attend a scheduled date?
Yes, you can contact our office either via telephone on 03 6387 7244 or email info@vxt.org.au and our team will add your details to our waitlist. Once a position or course becomes available, our team will be in touch to offer the position and confirm your placement.
What do I do if I cannot attend the course?
Please email our team at info@vxt.org.au or telephone 03 6387 7244 to advise your inability to attend at your earliest convenience. Our team can discuss further options such as re-enrolment on a future course.
If you phone the team out of hours, please leave a detailed message including your name, the course name and the date you are enrolled on. Our team will respond on the next available business day.
ON THE DAY
What do I wear to the course?
VXT course participants should be dressed in neat/casual attire for your course with enclosed shoes.
The only addendum to this is Housekeeping course participants are required to wear black trousers and enclosed shoes as you will be onsite at a venue, and this is to adhere to OH&S requirements.
What materials do I need to bring and what do I receive on the day?
All participants should bring a notebook and a pen to their course and will be provided a course-specific participant handbook either via hard copy or electronic.
Participants are not required to bring an electronic device with them.
