At the Tasmanian Hospitality & Tourism Academy (THTA) our priority is providing training for all students in a safe and supportive learning environment. Below are a number of frequently asked questions which may assist you. Please click on the cross adjacent to each question to expand the section for the answer.
GENERAL
What courses do you offer?
THTA offers a variety of hospitality and tourism courses varying from introductory skills to get your first job through to leadership and management for those already in the industry. To see a full list of the available courses, please visit our website www.vxt.org.au
What is the minimum and maximum age for course participants?
Generally our THTA courses do not have a minimum or a maximum age requirement for eligibility, meaning that anyone can undertake a course with us as long as they are able to understand and follow the instructions and guidelines set by our THTA Trainers. The current exceptions are our Introduction to Barista Skills and Responsible Service of Alcohol face to face where you must be over 16 years of age to participate
Do you run tailored courses or courses for businesses to upskill their in-house workforce?
THTA are happy to co-design courses to suit your buisness. If you require specific training or a tailored course for your business or operation, please contact us on info@vxt.org.au or call the team on 63 877244
PAYMENT & ACCOUNTS
How much are the courses?
Details of the cost of courses are listed on our website. THTA receives funding from the Tasmannian Government to assist with making courses as accessible as possible for those wanting skills to get a job or those already working in the Tasmanian hospitality and tourism industry.

What payment methods are available?
Your place in your chosen course is not secured until fully paid. An invoice will be forwarded to you via email with payment required within 2 business days of your tentative enrolment.
Payment terms are strictly 14 days from the invoice date through direct debit or credit card. If your registration is within 14 days prior to the course commencement, your payment will be due immediately.
Can I purchase courses for multiple people?
Yes, this can be done by purchasing courses individually via our website or alternatively you can send our team a request for a group booking via email at info@vxt.org.au.

Can I request a tax invoice for my employer?
Yes, after you have completed the tentative enrolment process, you will receive an invoice with instructions on how to pay via direct deposit. Alternatively, please get in touch with our team who will be able to provide you with a tax invoice . Email us at info@vxt.org.au or telephone 03 63 87 7244.
ENROLMENT
How and where do I enrol in a course?
To enrol simply head to our website, click on the Enrol button next to your selected course and follow the prompts to complete the enrolment process.
Plese note that your place in your selected course is not secured until fully paid. You will recieve an invoice for payment within 2 business days of your tentative enroment. Once you have paid and the course has reached minimum numbers, you place will be confirmed via email confirmation.

How long does the course take?
Many of our courses are one day in duration but we are adding newc courses all the time. Please check our website for the detailed information including times and dates and feel free to call us anytime to discuss the detail of any courses you are interested in on 63 877244.
When will I receive my certificate of completion?
Certificates for all THTA courses are issued after the completion of the course and are emailed to you. Certificates are also available for download via our Learning Portal – details to access the portal are provided during your enrolment.
It is important to ensure your details are up to date in your Learning Portal to ensure your certificate is accurate and is sent to the correct email address. For more information on the Learner Portal, please refer to your enrolment details or contact our team on info@vxt.org.au.
Where are your courses run?
THTA deliver courses throughout Tasmania. The venue for your chosen course will be confirmed in detail with your course confirmation email.

What time does your courses start and finish?
The confirmed start and finish times will be included in the tentative enrolment email and again in your course confirmation email.
Is there a waitlist for a course if I cannot attend a scheduled date?
Yes, contact our office on 6387 7244 or email info@vxt.org.au and our team will add your details to our waitlist.
What do I do if I cannot attend the course?
Please email our team at info@vxt.org.au or call 63 87 7244 to let us know if you cannot make it to a course your are confirmed to attend. We will work with you to determine your options including completing the training at another time.
ON THE DAY
What do I wear to the course?
THTA course participants should be dressed in neat/casual attire for your course with enclosed shoes.
You will be notified of any special requirements for your chosen course through the confirmation email.
What materials do I need to bring and what do I receive on the day?
All participants should bring a notebook and a pen to their course.
Any special requirements will be detailed as part of the course confirmation email you will recieve.
