The VXT Story
The Tasmanian Hospitality Association (THA) and the Tourism Industry Council Tasmania (TICT) jointly established a not-for-profit training company in December 2020.
Initially launched as the ‘Tasmanian Hospitality and Tourism Training (THTT)’ the initiative was later renamed ‘Visitor Experience Training’, or as we like to be known – VXT. The new trading name reflects our multifaceted industry approach. Inspiration is drawn from the fundamental belief that every customer entering our doors is a visitor, whether local regulars or interstate travellers. We want each and every one of them to have a truly Tasmanian experience.
The Tasmanian Government supported the creation of VXT by providing grant funding to establish the training organisation to support the Tasmanian hospitality and tourism industries. The Tasmanian Government continue to provide grants to VXT to operate and provide subsidised short courses to the industries.
Our Purpose
VXT has one overriding purpose – to train a hospitality and tourism workforce to deliver the Tasmanian experience. The VXT, therefore, is an industry-led and outcome-focused operation.
