A new online portal has been launched to boost awareness of opportunities to work in the tourism and hospitality sectors in Tasmania.
TasTourismHospitalityJobs.com.au has been established to help connect jobseekers with employers in the tourism and hospitality sectors.
With Tasmania’s borders opening soon, and peak visitor season approaching, there are abundant opportunities around the state for jobseekers of all ages – from bar staff to baristas and wait staff to walking guides.
Tourism and hospitality offer a range of exciting, rewarding roles across all regions of Tasmania. Jobs can include benefits that are unique to the sector, including flexible hours, staff accommodation, and on-the-job training.
Securing a role in tourism or hospitality provides employees with the opportunity to build a range of valuable skills that can form the basis of a long-term career – in Tasmania, interstate or internationally.
Over the coming weeks, the growing online community at Tasmanian Tourism and Hospitality Jobs will improve the visibility of those job vacancies and ensure that businesses have a pool of talented candidates to hire from.
Tasmanian businesses will be able to recruit their new team members by posting adverts on the jobs portal, which is free, fast, and easy to use.
Jobseekers can apply for positions directly through the site, as well as staying up to date with the latest employment and industry news, exploring education and training opportunities, and signing up for instant job alerts.
Tasmanian Tourism and Hospitality Jobs is run by Visitor Experience Training (VXT) – a joint endeavour between the Tasmanian Hospitality Association (THA) and the Tourism Industry Council Tasmania (TICT).
This project received grant funding from the Australian Government under the Recovery for Regional Tourism program, an initiative of the $1 billion COVID-19 Relief and Recovery Fund.
